This natural coffee is produced by 289 female coffee producers, all members of the Dukunde Kawa cooperative. Dukunde Kawa means "love coffee" in Kinyarwanda, Rwanda’s official language, chosen to symbolise the power of coffee.

We love the story behind this cooperative as they empower women to build their future after an era of genocide. They assist members to improve the yield and quality of their coffees by providing agronomy training and access to organic fertilisers. And the cooperative provided a creative spot and built a dairy refrigeration facility for the members to make a living outside the harvest months through the sales of handy crafts and dairy products like yoghurt, cheese and milk.
