High on the misty slopes of Mount Argopuro in East Java, our newest filter coffee has taken flight.
This lot comes from the Walida cooperative, a community of around 500 farming families growing coffee at up to 1,850 meters above sea level. After a devastating forest fire in 2018, the land was restored with over 500,000 coffee trees—bringing back biodiversity, water, and life to the mountain.
Led by agronomist Muhlisin, Walida blends innovation with integrity. Farmers set their own cherry prices, get paid immediately, and farm organically, while experimenting with playful processing methods that make Indonesian coffee anything but boring. Beyond coffee, Walida also runs an agroforestry school for 500 students, investing directly in the future of the region.
In the cup? Expect vibrant fruit, clean sweetness, and a lively structure that keeps things fun and expressive—classic Balloon energy.
From a revived volcano forest to your kitchen at home, this coffee doesn’t just taste good, it lifts everyone involved.
We currently roast bi-weekly on Fridays. New orders will be sent out after the next roast day.
