Typica to the people!
On the 1 hectare of land at La Naranja, designated to coffee growing, Orwell decided to nurture one of coffees most historic varieties. Typica, can be traced back to the highlands of South West Ethiopia, birthplace of arabica coffee. The variety was taken to Yemen, sailed to Indonesia and finally was brought to South America in the 17th century. Typica left her traces in common coffee mutations in various origin countries around the world which are grown today.
A great thing while Typica is famous for elegant, floral, fruity and complex flavours. Great for spoiling yourself with a daily filter brew!
Orwell grows coffee out of tradition in his region and took over La Naranja from his father. He is a 4thgeneration coffee producer, currently focusing on sustainable agricultural practices as climate change forms a big challenge affecting yield and quality of the coffee.
